THE GOLD COAST BRANCH HAS CLOSED.

GOLD COAST BRANCH

Small-leaved Tamarind and Long-leaved Tuckeroo
Diploglottis campbellii and Cupaniopsis newmanii
This Branch was initially formed on 27th July 1971 as the South Coast Branch. Twenty members joined and Mr. J. Stephens was elected Chairman. The position of Secretary/Treasurer remained vacant and was later filled by Gay Welch, who remained Secretary until the closure of the Branch in 1981. In 1979, the name was changed to Gold Coast Branch.

After a campaign started in 1995 by Bonni Reichelt to raise interest, the Gold Coast Branch was reformed in April 1996 , with Christine Proud as Chairman and Lorna Ewing as Secretary. Bonni Reichelt arranged for her biotechnology company, Genesearch, to provide a meeting place. The Gold Coast Branch closed again in early 2005.
